Silang, Cavite | CLEANWAY ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT SOLUTIONS INC. has received its ISO 22301:2019 covering the Collection of Hazardous Waste and Non-Hazardous Waste, Treatment Storage and Disposal of Hazardous Waste, Treatment of Non-Hazardous Waste. It has been issued with a multi-site certificate by the Bureau Veritas Certification.

Beyond paper, Cleanway’s standard on Business Continuity Management Systems has long been tested since it operates a network of environmental management plants in Cavite, Tarlac and Leyte. Physical, logistical and treatment support systems have been operating for almost a decade. This is a comprehensive and realistic assurance for all our partners.

The company satisfactorily passed the audit last 3 December 2025 and issued last 9 January 2026. This new international standard recognition  is in addition  to Cleanway’s three (3) existing ISO Certifications. Congratulations to all the hard work, diligence and continued compliance.

Alabang, Muntinlupa City – The Pollution Control Association of the Philippines (PCAPI) Region 4A Chapter and DENR – Environmental Management Bureau (EMB) CALABARZON Region has organized the PCO General Assembly (GA) and the 14th Biennial Convention last 9-10 October 2025 held at The Bellevue Hotel. The annual gather responds to pressing issues encountered in pollution control and management. Together with a team of experts the convention timely discusses  the challenges and solutions with the theme: “Adapting to Change Together: Strategies for Environmental Polycrisis.”

This two-day convention was supoorted by the industry’s movers and shakers particularly in water and waste management. Cleanway Environmental Management Solutions, Inc. has been an institutional member of the association and one of the most trusted TSD companies in the region.  

The convention provides an avenue for updates on environmental laws and regulations relevant to the practice of PCOs. This year, the theme covers definition of polycrisis in the context of environmental management and pollution control; presentation of the different aspects of environmental polycrises, particularly, on (1) planetary crises (climate change and biodiversity loss); (2) policy and/or governance changes; and (3) transformations from rapid growth of artificial intelligence (AI). Guest speakers further explores the interconnected nature of a polycrisis, and highlight their impact on sustainability and long-term resilience.

The event also recognizes PCOs and industries who exemplify outstanding work in resilience and sustainability, through PCAPI 4A’s Search and Awards for multiple categories: (1) Outstanding PCO Award, (2) Success Story Award, (3) Mother Nature Award; and (4) Stewardship Merit Award (new category!!). In 2017 and 2023, Cleanway has been recognized in its successful waste water handling.

Catbalogan City, Samar | Environmental Management Bureau (EMB) RO8 hosted last Monday, September 29, the second leg of the Waste & Water Summit 2025. The program has engaged various Local Government Units from the Province of Samar, along with partners, exhibitors, and stakeholders at the Samar Convention Center for a day of an environmental forum. Cleanaway Philippines, Inc. (CPI) presented the current technologies and protocols in handling hazardous industrial and medical wastes.

Quezon City – Cleanway conducts a special seminar on waste management protocols and processes with East Avenue Medical Center in partnership with the Department of Health (DOH). The program aims to update personnel with the stringent handling of biomedical wastes for the benefit of personnel, patients and visitors of major hospitals.

Manila Bay – In honor of this year’s International Coastal Cleanup (ICC) Day, Cleanway Environmental Management Solutions, Inc. proudly participated in the coastal cleanup effort alongside the Department of Environmental and Natural Resources and other private sector volunteers. It was celebrated in the Manila Bay area on September 20, 2025.

ICC Day, a program held every year on the third Saturday in September, is regarded as the biggest volunteer event for ocean health in the world. Volunteers are organized by the event to clear rubbish from lakes, rivers, beaches, and other waterways. Nine of the coastal locations used for the ICC 2025 events in the Philippines were in the National Capital Region.

The livelihoods of coastal communities are at risk, ecosystems are disrupted, and marine life is seriously threatened by marine trash, especially plastics. The ICC urges everyone to support sustainable behaviors, engage in group action, and fulfill our common duty as environmental stewards.

Additionally, September continues to be a crucial month for raising awareness of maritime issues and the value of our oceans and coastal ecosystems. September is designated as Maritime and Archipelagic Nation Awareness Month (MANAMo) annually by Presidential Proclamation No. 316, Series of 2017.

The decree promotes three national and international memorial events pertaining to the maritime environment, including “International Coastal Cleanup Day.” The MANAMo celebrations serve as a vital reminder of the vital role our waters play in maintaining biodiversity, sustaining livelihoods, and combating climate change. The other two events are “National Maritime Day” and “Fish Conservation Week.”

Together with other ocean stewards, Cleanway is committed to maintaining the integrity of our marine ecosystems and the beauty of our coastal regions.

Ormoc City | Cleanaway Philippines, Inc. joins the Waste and Water Summit 2025 in Superdome. The summit gathers local and national leaders, experts, and stakeholders for knowledge exchange, best practices and convergence on innovative solutions in Region VIII. The program is spearheaded the Regional Ecology Center (REC) of Eastern Visayas. “The summit serves as a valuable platform for environment officers from local government units (LGUs) to stay informed on the latest developments in waste management, broaden their professional networks, and enhance their knowledge and skills.” Recognizing the strong link between solid waste and water pollution, this year’s summit incorporates water quality management topics in line with Republic Act 9275, otherwise known as the Philippine Clean Water Act of 2004.

Some of the highlights are Waste-to-Energy concepts and other waste processing technologies; Wastewater Treatment Facility (WTF) in Sanitary Landfills; Septic design, septage management, and sewerage system; LGU Ormoc’s success story on septage management; Circular Economy practices in Ormoc City and the Province-wide compliance to RA 9003 or the Ecological Solid Waste Management Act of 2000.

Ormoc, Leyte – The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), through its Marine Environmental Protection Command (MEPCOM), fulfilled its mandate in preventing marine pollution through effective enforcement of environmental laws within the maritime zones. With the launch of Task Force Ingat Dagat in Region VIII, the program addresses a comprehensive initiative designed to strengthen environmental protection through community engagement, pollution response training, and awareness campaigns targeting schools, fisherfolk, port stakeholders, and coastal communities.

In partnership with Cleanaway Philippines, Inc. in the Eastern Visayas, the Marine Environmental Protection Enforcement and Response Group – Eastern Visayas (MEPERG EV) spearheads a campaign with key industry stakeholders. We thank the agency for recognizing our role in driving economic growth with a shared responsibility to safeguard the local marine environment. 

The Task Force Ingat Yaman Dagat and Oil Spill Response Exercise was held last August 7 to 8, 2025 in Ormoc City with Mayor Lucy Torres-Gomez as the Guest of Honor and Speaker. 

Cagayan de Oro-  Cleanaway Philippines Inc. and Cleanway Environmental Management Solutions Inc. made a joint participation in the 45th PCAPI National Assembly. This year’s advocacy is on MOVING BEYOND COMPLIANCE: REINFORCING OUR ROLE IN KEEPING THE BALANCE IN NATURE. The annual national gathering of Pollution Control Officers is highlighted by a series of discussions and consultations on environmental protection and its updated guidelines.
