The program aims to update personnel with the stringent handling of biomedical wastes for the benefit of personnel, patients and visitors of major hospitals.

CEMSI Partners with FEED, Rotary, UP Land Grant in Sierra Madre

Sierra Madre – CEMSI Silang and Tarlac partners with Fostering Education & Environment for Development or FEED Inc. and Rotary Club of Eisenhower for its annual tree planting activity in the UP Laguna-Quezon Land Grant. The location is situated at the end of the Sierra Madre Ridge bordering the two provinces. After a 15-minute hike, 350 native Philippine trees were planted along the slopes. Here, seedlings are monitored by the local community and professional Forest rangers. Activity sites are also available with GPS for quick location reference of the planted trees.

Do you know that there is a law requiring every citizen of this country to plant trees? PRESIDENTIAL DECREE No. 1153 requires the planting of one tree every month for five consecutive years. Section 2 of the said decree states that “In furtherance of said policy, every citizen of the Philippines at least ten (10) years of age, actually residing therein, unless physically disabled to do so, shall plant one tree every month for five (5) consecutive years.” Now you know it’s the responsibility of every Filipino! Plant one now! Or plant 12 for the year! It’s better to plant 60 in a day!

Cleanway Tarlac receives BDO’s first Blue Bond

Capas, Tarlac – “Cleanway Environmental Management Solutions, Inc. (CEMSI), the second beneficiary, provides an integrated and comprehensive technology solutions for waste and wastewater treatment. CEMSI established a new plant in Tarlac City to expand services to more industrial and hospital facilities. Through the blue bond proceeds, the new facility provided wastewater management services to 121 new businesses and 23 new hospitals. Simultaneous Clean-Up for Earth Hour 2024

Nationwide – CEMSI Tarlac joins the DENR PENRO Manila Bay Tarlac Clean-Up Activity at Cutcut River as part of its commitment to serve the community. The company heeded the call of the local government to be at the forefront of environmental awareness campaign. This also coincides with the company’s effort to support Earth Hour 2024 by enriching the campaign with worthwhile environmental activities. In celebration of the World Water Day, a Simultaneous Clean-Up Activity for the Adopt-an-estero/ Waterbody Program last March 22 was led by the LIDE Locators composed of CPI, EMAI, FAG, Grand Terra, HKIAMPI, IASCO, LMC, Petron, RPMI, LGU Isabel, Bilwang Community. Cleanaway Philippines, Inc. has adopted Bilwang as its program beneficiary for the past several years now. The event was also part of CPI’s commitment to the Earth Hour 2024. While at the Main Plant in Silang, employees engaged in their regular inspection and cleaning of Labuyo Creek in Barangay Maguyam. Silang Plant is a recipient of the DENR Adopt-An-Estero Program Award in 2023 in recognition of its committment to effluent monitoring and water care. #biggesthourforearth #myhourforearth

Arbor Day in Capas in cooperation with MENRO CENRO and PVAO

CEMSI North Plant in Capas Tarlac celebrated Arbor Day in time for the Philippine Environment Month with the Capas-MENRO, CENRO Tarlac and the Philippine Veterans Affairs Office (PVAO) in the grounds of the Capas National Shrine in Barangay Aranguren. CEMSI planted around 50 seedlings of guyabano and duhat to join the 12,000 trees inside the memorial shrine for Philippine veterans for World War II. Under the Trees for Heroes Program, PVAO organizes tree planting events with the Armed Forces of the Philippines in compliance to RA 8221. Engr. Darwin Campo, PVAO Shrine Curator welcomed participants while Forester Emmanuel Razalan Capas-CENRO delivered a brief orientation on the planting procedure. Mr. Gener S. Tanhueco, SEMS/OIC-MENRO gave his word of thanks to all private sectors present on the tree planting day. CEMSI looks forward to the day that the fruit-bearing trees will nurture the diversity of wildlife in the memorial shrine. As part of our environmental mission, we commit ourselves in planting and rearing of trees in Capas, Tarlac. This activity is the second leg of our tree planting program for the Philippine Environment Month 2022.

CEMSI-TSU Internship Program 2022

Cleanway Environmental Management Solutions, Inc. (CEMSI) collaborates with Tarlac State University College of Science for the Professional Engagament Partnership (PEP) 2022. Fourteen (14) Senior Chemistry students were accepted for the Technical Studies Program of CEMSI. Under the tutelage of Technical Services Department, the main section for hazardous waste studies and innovation, students were given the chance to study specific topics on waste solutions. Among the accepted interns, two students were chosen for their impressive research despite the challenges of time and rigorous academic work.

We acknowledge the team of Alissandro Diaz and Faith Diaz for a job well done in their presentation of Anaerobic Digestion of Grease Trap Waste. They received a special prize and recognition for their effort. The rest of the interns were awarded with a Certification of Completion.

Managing Director Jose Exiquel Esguerra delivered his remarks in the online Closing Ceremony last 25 May 2022. Here, he extended his gratitude to our TSU partners: Dr. Erwin Cayabyab Mina, Professor of Chemistry, Department of Natural Sciences, Dr. Claire C. Lagrana, Chairperson of the Department of Natural Sciences, and to Dr. Mary Jane N. Rigor, Dean of College of Sciences. Prior the pandemic, CEMSI and TSU has been partners in training Chemistry students. We are proud that a number of TSU Alumni are part of our organization in the North Plant Capas, Tarlac. MOA signing between CEMSI and Capas Mayor Hon Reynaldo Catacutan

Through the generosity of Herma Group’s Chairman Herminio S. Esguerra and the cooperation of Capas Mayor Reynaldo Catacutan, CEMSI donated a brand-new ambulance to Ospital Ning Capas last 18 November 2019 in its preparation for the SEA Games on December 2019. The unit will be added to their emergency medical response fleet distributed to various locations. A special flag raising program was celebrated to honor CEMSI’s generosity with the MOA signing witnessed by all local government officials.

North Plant Opening

CEMSI opens its North Plant in barangay Cutcut II Capas, Tarlac with Capas Mayor Reynaldo Catacutan and Barangay Captain Edwin Macale as guests of honor. Local officials from varied departments of the LGU have attended the event. This is the newest CEMSI plant with an area of 2.9 hectares. With an aim to be a prime mover in waste management solutions, the plant will serve the industries and medical facilities in Central and Northern Luzon.
