Ormoc City | Cleanaway Philippines, Inc. joins the Waste and Water Summit 2025 in Superdome. The summit gathers local and national leaders, experts, and stakeholders for knowledge exchange, best practices and convergence on innovative solutions in Region VIII. The program is spearheaded the Regional Ecology Center (REC) of Eastern Visayas. “The summit serves as a valuable platform for environment officers from local government units (LGUs) to stay informed on the latest developments in waste management, broaden their professional networks, and enhance their knowledge and skills.” Recognizing the strong link between solid waste and water pollution, this year’s summit incorporates water quality management topics in line with Republic Act 9275, otherwise known as the Philippine Clean Water Act of 2004.

Some of the highlights are Waste-to-Energy concepts and other waste processing technologies; Wastewater Treatment Facility (WTF) in Sanitary Landfills; Septic design, septage management, and sewerage system; LGU Ormoc’s success story on septage management; Circular Economy practices in Ormoc City and the Province-wide compliance to RA 9003 or the Ecological Solid Waste Management Act of 2000.

Tacloban City – DOH Eastern Visayas Center for Health Development – Health Facility Development Cluster organized the “Hospital Summit 2024” last October 23-24, 2024 at Summit Hotel, Tacloban City. The event gathered the Chief of Hospitals, Hospital Administrators, and other Stakeholders to discuss the current issues on the region’s healthcare agenda. The collaboration initiated at the summit has the potential to evolve in several impactful ways to serve the citizens and the local environment. Regional Environmental Summit in Leyte

Tacloban City, Leyte – Through the initiative of Region VIII industry partners. the Regional Environmental Summit was held last July 9-10 at the Summit Hotel, Marasbaras. In coordination with Regional Ecology Center (REC), an inter-agency organization composed of EMB, DPWH, DENR, MGB, DepEd, DA, DIL, DOST, DTI, PNP, NEDA, PIA, TESDA, EVSU, PCAPI, and the Rotary Club of Tacloban, Cleanaway Philippines participated in the local environmental issues discussion. CPI is an affiliate of Cleanway Environmental Management Solutions Inc. in Cavite and Tarlac.

DENR Central and Regional Joint Visit at CPI

Isabel, Leyte – A joint visit conducted by the DENR Central office and the EMB Region VIII was held yesterday, 20 October at the Cleanaway Philippines, Inc. (CPI) treatment plant. Site inspection and improvements were part of the fruitful discussion led by the Hazardous Waste Management Section Chief of DENR Central, Engr. Geri-Geronimo R. Sañez. The new Cleanclave system is the first medical waste treatment facility in the Leyte-Samar region. It encourages medical facilities to opt for a more sustainable treatment program. CPI collaborates with national and regional agencies on how to further improve its operation and services in hazardous waste management. This is an assurance to all our clients that we do it the right way.

A New Medical Waste Treatment in Leyte

Isabel, Leyte – Cleanaway Philippines, Incorporated (CPI) recently opened its healthcare waste treatment facility at Leyte Industrial Development Estate in Isabel, Leyte. The first of its kind in the region, the new Cleanclave System will operate this Q3 of 2022 to cater to the growing medical waste demand in the Leyte-Samar region. Opened in 2013, CPI has grown its hazardous waste services over the years. Affiliated with the Cleanway Environmental Management Solutions, Inc. (CEMSI) in Cavite and Tarlac, CPI will further its mission in hazardous waste management to offer solutions for wider hazardous waste acceptance as approved by the DENR-EMB. Attending the event are the local Sangguniang Bayan Members of Isabel and its Vice Mayor Hon. Adam Fuentes, representing the newly elected Mayor, Hon. Edgrado Cordeno. Officials of DENR-EMB Region VIII graced the event with outgoing Regional Director, Engr. Reynaldo Barra and current Regional Director Martin Jose Despi. CPI and CEMSI are part of the Environmental Division of The Herma Group.
