Ormoc, Leyte – The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), through its Marine Environmental Protection Command (MEPCOM), fulfilled its mandate in preventing marine pollution through effective enforcement of environmental laws within the maritime zones. With the launch of Task Force Ingat Dagat in Region VIII, the program addresses a comprehensive initiative designed to strengthen environmental protection through community engagement, pollution response training, and awareness campaigns targeting schools, fisherfolk, port stakeholders, and coastal communities.

In partnership with Cleanaway Philippines, Inc. in the Eastern Visayas, the Marine Environmental Protection Enforcement and Response Group – Eastern Visayas (MEPERG EV) spearheads a campaign with key industry stakeholders. We thank the agency for recognizing our role in driving economic growth with a shared responsibility to safeguard the local marine environment.

The Task Force Ingat Yaman Dagat and Oil Spill Response Exercise was held last August 7 to 8, 2025 in Ormoc City with Mayor Lucy Torres-Gomez as the Guest of Honor and Speaker.

Isabel, Leyte- The CPI Plant regularly hosts the Pollution Control Association of the Philippines Inc. Region VIII Chapter in its PCO Training. Showcasing today’s innovation in hazardous waste management, our Leyte Plant offers compliant services for medical and industrial waste treatment & disposal in the VIsayas region. The 5.5-hectare facility is located in Leyte Industrial Development Estate (LIDE) in Isabel and has been in operation since 2013. Two batches of new PCOS arrived last May 17 as part of their industry tour.

Isabel, Leyte – Trusted by the government, Cleanaway Philippines, Inc. signed an agreement with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Region VIII as their reliable partner in the destruction of substances. PDEA R8 Asst. RD Alex M. Tablate led his team in the signing and witnessing. The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) is responsible for efficient law enforcement of all provisions on any dangerous drugs and/or precursors and essential chemicals.
