Earth Hour 2022

CEMSI employees celebrate #earthhour2022 in all of its treatment plants in Cavite, Tarlac and Leyte. Thanks to our night shift teams and the leadership of our Operations Heads the three plants simultaneously held an hour shut down. Before the ceremonial hour, CEMSI Managing Director Jose Exiquel Esguerra delivered his annual message to all CEMSI employees. “Every year, our companies are actively promoting environmental awareness as part of our corporate mission. Here, we embrace the responsibility as Stewards of the Environment. As a hazardous waste treatment plant, we know the devastating impact of waste in our environment. Along with energy conservation, water protection and minimizing air pollution, solving the problem on hazardous industrial and medical wastes are as imperative to combat environmental degradation. This worldwide campaign has transformed environmental consciousness around the globe. We, at Cleanway, have always been inspired by the Earth Hour’s efforts. We are proud that our company is part of the Philippines’ green force and this country is part of the 190 nations in solidarity for Mother Earth.” He added, “by turning off our lights, we can create a spark for global conversation on protecting nature. In darkness, we can appreciate and discern on the looming climate crisis. Beyond the turning the lights off, we need to be part of a sustainable solution to protect our planet…” Together with CEMSI Silang Plant Manager Japril Samaniego, CEMSI North Plant Plant Superintendent Reylan Alvarez and CPI Plant Superintendent Jerome Bayocboc, the Environmental Division of The Group gave its full support to Earth Hour 2022.
