Philippine Coast Guard, CPI Partnership on Hazardous Waste and Marine Pollution

Ormoc, Leyte – The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), through its Marine Environmental Protection Command (MEPCOM), fulfilled its mandate in preventing marine pollution through effective enforcement of environmental laws within the maritime zones. With the launch of Task Force Ingat Dagat in Region VIII, the program addresses a comprehensive initiative designed to strengthen environmental protection through community engagement, pollution response training, and awareness campaigns targeting schools, fisherfolk, port stakeholders, and coastal communities.

In partnership with Cleanaway Philippines, Inc. in the Eastern Visayas, the Marine Environmental Protection Enforcement and Response Group – Eastern Visayas (MEPERG EV) spearheads a campaign with key industry stakeholders. We thank the agency for recognizing our role in driving economic growth with a shared responsibility to safeguard the local marine environment. 

The Task Force Ingat Yaman Dagat and Oil Spill Response Exercise was held last August 7 to 8, 2025 in Ormoc City with Mayor Lucy Torres-Gomez as the Guest of Honor and Speaker.

Indang, Cavite – Cavite State University (CvSU) Main Campus, the premier state university in the Province of Cavite, held its 119th Anniversary last 26 March 2025. Part of the festivity is the Partners’ Gala Honoring Excellence, Integrity, and Collaboration with the university partners. CvSU has recognized Cleanway as one of its Valued Partner Organizations. Our years of partnership in the internship program have contributed to students’ learning development in the Microbiology, Industrial Technology, and Environmental Science programs. Cleanway commits to its host locality the needed support in science and engineering.  Representing the company is the Senior Vice President for Sales and Operations, Rodney Esguerra and the Corporate Affairs Manager, Phillip Medina. Barangay Incentive on Efficient Segregation

Silang, Cavite- CEMSI collaborated with the Municipal Environmental and Natural Resources Office of Silang to raise awareness on solid waste management. CEMSI’s P50,000 cash donation aims to reintroduce and incentivize MENRO’s program on efficient barangay waste segregation. Two barangays were recognized for their environmental efforts. Barangay Biga I and Paligawan received P25,000 incentive from CEMSI to continue their efforts in plastic and tin can segregation. Solid waste management should start in our homes, and with the help of the Barangay Leaders, it can create greater progress to protect our environment.

Cleanway congratulates the second batch of the 2024 CEMSI Internship Program. Four interns from Technological Institute of the Philippines Manila and Batangas State University received their Certificates of Completion as they rendered their service hours in the Technical Services Division, Operations, Safety Health and Environment Quality Units from July to November.A total of 16 interns were accommodated by Cleanway this year.

The event gathered the Chief of Hospitals, Hospital Administrators, and other Stakeholders to discuss the current issues on the region’s healthcare agenda. The collaboration initiated at the summit has the potential to evolve in several impactful ways to serve the citizens and the local environment. Organized by the Pollution Control Association of the Philippines, Inc. (PCAPI) CALABARZON, the conference focused on the requisites and implementation of the EPR Law. Cleanway is a duly-registered PRO in the Department of Environment and Natural Resources who monitors the current Philippine EPR Program. Cleanway officers received a plaque of appreciation from PCAPI 4A for its continued support to the organization’s annual programs for pollution control sector of the region.

Cleanway congratulates Batch 1 of the 2024 CEMSI Internship Program. Twelve interns from various academic institutions such as Enderun Colleges, Tarlac Agricultural University, De La Salle University-Dasmarinas, Tarlac State University, and Cavite State University received their Certificates of Completion as they rendered their full-service hours in the Technical Services Division, Operations, Safety Health and Environment Quality and Marketing Units. Students are given a chance to explore the laboratory services and several hands-on projects relevant to environmental protection and advocacy. CEMSI received almost a hundred internship applications giving way to another selected second batch this year.
