Home to CEMSI’s first treatment plant, Silang recently signed a contract for the collection, treatment and disposal of its hazardous medical wastes. These will come from the local COVID19 Isolation Facility and various Rural Health Units in municipality. Together with Hon. Mayor Corie Poblete, Municipal Administrator Miguel Fule and RHU Head Dr. Joyce Guarin, we are hand-in-hand in ensuring the public of a safe transportation and treatment of its infectious wastes. CEMSI has been in Silang for the past 16 years and we continue to be an active community partner in its various noble missions.

Through the generosity of Herma Group’s Chairman Herminio S. Esguerra and the cooperation of Capas Mayor Reynaldo Catacutan, CEMSI donated a brand-new ambulance to Ospital Ning Capas last 18 November 2019 in its preparation for the SEA Games on December 2019. The unit will be added to their emergency medical response fleet distributed to various locations. A special flag raising program was celebrated to honor CEMSI’s generosity with the MOA signing witnessed by all local government officials.

Graduate students of the Technological University of the Philippines- Manila under the Ph.D. class of environmental management visits the North Plant last 12 October 2019 for its biomedical treatment and wastewater treatment facilities. The out-of-campus study serves as an exposure to students on the up to date waste treatment facilities in the country. CEMSI opens its doors for scholastic visits and supports educational institutions in promoting waste management studies.

An annual program committed to the Region IV-A EMB’s campaign on Adopt-An-Estero Program. With the MEMT, CEMSI calls for a unified cleaning of the Labuyo Creek with the industries located in its upstream and downstream. CEMSI also provides the Local Government with an industrial mapping survey of companies affecting the bodies of water in Barangay Maguyam. The study was conducted by CEMSI interns from the Technological Institute of the Philippines-QC Sanitation Engineering students.
