CEMSI and Maguyam Elementary School Enviro-art Contest
Cleanway Environmental Management Solutions Inc., together with Maguyam Elementary School launched an environmental-art contest last November 2021. With the current local school needs, online education is still a great challenge for the local community. A mix of module and online classes are held, but not all students can attend the online classes given the economic limitations. Helping students cope with the changing times, Cleanway Environmental Management Solutions, Inc. delivered a simple Christmas Program for the students: Ano ang Pamasko mo para sa Inang Kalikasan?   The program aims to highlight a campaign against the increasing plastic waste due to the pandemic. Our use of face masks, face shields, delivery packaging and take out materials have increased the volume of wastes. With this theme in their artworks, students may gain environment consciousness in drawing the effects of this problem in the environment and show how can they contribute to lessen the use of plastics in their homes. As an output, the project highlighted our shared responsibilities in protecting that environment that will be reflected from our household responsibilities. Selected student winners won brand new smart phones for their online classes. #CEMSIadvocacy

In 2021, Cleanway Environmental Management Solutions, Inc. (CEMSI) conducted several tree planting activities with its industry partners and business affiliates. At the start of the year, the CEMSI Tarlac Plant held its first tree planting activity within its 2.2 hectare property. Trees suitable to the climate of Capas, Tarlac were chosen to provide the overall masterplan with greenery. CEMSI Managing Director Jose Exiquel A. Esguerra led the team to get their hands dirty to re-green the Capas’ integrataed hazardous waste management facility with its 100 seedlings. Come mid-year, the CEMSI Cavite plant coordinated with the First Philippine Industrial Park in Batangas last June 29 for a donation of more than 200 molave seedlings to be propagated in the premier industrial estate. It is also part of CEMSI’s advocacy to support its clients on their environmental efforts. Down south, Cleanaway Philippines, Inc. (CPI) located in Leyte Industrial Development Estate (LIDE) Isabel, Leyte planted several seedlings in its 5-hectare hazardous waste treatment facility at the end of September. Capping the year, CEMSI joined force with its affiliates: HSTC, ESHCorp and FPCI for a mangrove tree planting activoity in Lian Mangrove Conservation Park on November 26. The Maritime and Environmental Divisions of the Herma Group coordinated with the MENRO of Lian for the annual mangrove planting of 500 young mangrove shoots. Here, the local fishing community provided the propagules and assisted the team in a seaside journey during low tide . For the next six months, the propagules are monitored by the local volunteers, thus, assuring its partners on the progress and condition of newly planted mangroves.

Silang, Cavite – The CEMSI Main Plant is now ISO 45001:2018 Certified in addition to its ISO 9001:2015 on Quality Management System and ISO 14001:2015 on Environmental Management System.

The ISO 45001:2018 focuses on stringent compliance to Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Management System. The certification audit was conducted by Socotech Certification International Philippines.

Both Silang and Tarlac plants hold three ISO certifications. CEMSI is the first in hazwaste industry to have ISO certifications. This is a testament of our continued commitment to EXCELLENCE in high standards and an ever stronger assurance to our stakeholders.

LGU-Silang Healthcare Waste Partnership

Home to CEMSI’s first treatment plant, Silang recently signed a contract for the collection, treatment and disposal of its hazardous medical wastes. These will come from the local COVID19 Isolation Facility and various Rural Health Units in municipality. Together with Hon. Mayor Corie Poblete, Municipal Administrator Miguel Fule and RHU Head Dr. Joyce Guarin, we are hand-in-hand in ensuring the public of a safe transportation and treatment of its infectious wastes. CEMSI has been in Silang for the past 16 years and we continue to be an active community partner in its various noble missions.

Surveillance Audit 2020

Cleanway Environmental Management Solutions, Inc. has successfully completed its surveillance audit in conformance to ISO International, Philippines. CEMSI’s Quality and Environmental Management System, also called Integrated Management System or IMS is established to protect all its workers and the environment where CEMSI is operating, and to comply with all relevant Quality and Environmental policies as well as all applicable and regulatory and statutory requirements.

This made CEMSI, once again, a highly dependable Total Waste Management Solutions provider with standard protocols and policies to deliver its hazardous waste treatment services in the country.

MOA signing between CEMSI and Capas Mayor Hon Reynaldo Catacutan

Through the generosity of Herma Group’s Chairman Herminio S. Esguerra and the cooperation of Capas Mayor Reynaldo Catacutan, CEMSI donated a brand-new ambulance to Ospital Ning Capas last 18 November 2019 in its preparation for the SEA Games on December 2019. The unit will be added to their emergency medical response fleet distributed to various locations. A special flag raising program was celebrated to honor CEMSI’s generosity with the MOA signing witnessed by all local government officials.
