Tacloban City – DOH Eastern Visayas Center for Health Development – Health Facility Development Cluster organized the “Hospital Summit 2024” last October 23-24, 2024 at Summit Hotel, Tacloban City. The event gathered the Chief of Hospitals, Hospital Administrators, and other Stakeholders to discuss the current issues on the region’s healthcare agenda. The collaboration initiated at the summit has the potential to evolve in several impactful ways to serve the citizens and the local environment. PCAPI 4A PCO Summit 2024 Green Sponsor
Tagaytay City – Cleanway Environmental Management Solutions, Inc. sponsored this year’s Pollution Control Officer (PCO) Summit as a prestigious Green Sponsor held at the Lake Wing of Taal Vista Hotel. Organized by the Pollution Control Association of the Philippines, Inc. (PCAPI) CALABARZON, the conference focused on the requisites and implementation of the EPR Law. Cleanway is a duly-registered PRO in the Department of Environment and Natural Resources who monitors the current Philippine EPR Program. Cleanway officers received a plaque of appreciation from PCAPI 4A for its continued support to the organization’s annual programs for pollution control sector of the region.
CEMSI Partners with FEED, Rotary, UP Land Grant in Sierra Madre
Sierra Madre – CEMSI Silang and Tarlac partners with Fostering Education & Environment for Development or FEED Inc. and Rotary Club of Eisenhower for its annual tree planting activity in the UP Laguna-Quezon Land Grant. The location is situated at the end of the Sierra Madre Ridge bordering the two provinces.
After a 15-minute hike, 350 native Philippine trees were planted along the slopes. Here, seedlings are monitored by the local community and professional
Forest rangers. Activity sites are also available with GPS for quick location reference of the planted trees.
Do you know that there is a law requiring every citizen of this country to plant trees? PRESIDENTIAL DECREE No. 1153 requires the planting of one tree every month for five consecutive years. Section 2 of the said decree states that “In furtherance of said policy, every citizen of the Philippines at least ten (10) years of age, actually residing therein, unless physically disabled to do so, shall plant one tree every month for five (5) consecutive years.” Now you know it’s the responsibility of every Filipino! Plant one now! Or plant 12 for the year!

Regional Environmental Summit in Leyte
Tacloban City, Leyte – Through the initiative of Region VIII industry partners. the Regional Environmental Summit was held last July 9-10 at the Summit Hotel, Marasbaras. In coordination with Regional Ecology Center (REC), an inter-agency organization composed of EMB, DPWH, DENR, MGB, DepEd, DA, DIL, DOST, DTI, PNP, NEDA, PIA, TESDA, EVSU, PCAPI, and the Rotary Club of Tacloban, Cleanaway Philippines participated in the local environmental issues discussion. CPI is an affiliate of Cleanway Environmental Management Solutions Inc. in Cavite and Tarlac.
Cleanway Tarlac receives BDO’s first Blue Bond
Capas, Tarlac – “Cleanway Environmental Management Solutions, Inc. (CEMSI), the second beneficiary, provides an integrated and comprehensive technology solutions for waste and wastewater treatment. CEMSI established a new plant in Tarlac City to expand services to more industrial and hospital facilities. Through the blue bond proceeds, the new facility provided wastewater management services to 121 new businesses and 23 new hospitals. Stronger ties with PCAPI Region 8
Isabel, Leyte- The CPI Plant regularly hosts the Pollution Control Association of the Philippines Inc. Region VIII Chapter in its PCO Training. Showcasing today’s innovation in hazardous waste management, our Leyte Plant offers compliant services for medical and industrial waste treatment & disposal in the VIsayas region. The 5.5-hectare facility is located in Leyte Industrial Development Estate (LIDE) in Isabel and has been in operation since 2013. Two batches of new PCOS arrived last May 17 as part of their industry tour.
Joint CPI and CEMSI at PCAPI NatCon 2024
Malay, Aklan – CEMSI and CPI held a joint marketing activity at the Pollution Control Association of the Philippines Inc. (PCAPI) 2024 National Convention at Boracay Island. CEMSI COO Ronel Pagcaliwangan, Operations and Sales SVP Rodney Esguerra and National Sales Manager Erlyness Carlos attended the event with Territory Managers Engr. JP Atienza of CEMSI and Mr. Michael Taduyo of CPI represented the management team in the annual prestigious affair. CPI’s Pollution Control Officer Honey Mae de Guzman attended the conference and forum as part of our knowledge capacity building in the trends, changes and challenges in hazardous waste management.
PDEA and CPI Partnership
Isabel, Leyte – Trusted by the government, Cleanaway Philippines, Inc. signed an agreement with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Region VIII as their reliable partner in the destruction of substances. PDEA R8 Asst. RD Alex M. Tablate led his team in the signing and witnessing. The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) is responsible for efficient law enforcement of all provisions on any dangerous drugs and/or precursors and essential chemicals.
Sharing Hazwaste Treament Sustainability at 2024 PCEDM Convention
Pasay City – Together in environmental advocacy, CEMSI partners with Sanofi in the 2024 Philippine College of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism (PCEDM) Convention to showcase responsible disposal of healthcare waste. CEMSI advocates zero-to-landfill methodologies as part of its sustainability agenda. To date, treated wastes are converted to inert ash through its Thermal Oxidizer. The final product is transformed into paver bricks suitable for landscaping use.
